Michaela Kiernan

Michaela Kiernan, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Scientist at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She received her doctorate in social and health psychology from Yale University, and has substantial training and expertise in research methodology and statistics. Funded in part by a NIH-NHLBI FIRST Award, her research focuses on the design and implementation of theory-based behavioral strategies for weight management, dietary change, and physical activity. She is a research methods and statistical consultant for the Community Partnership Medical Scholars program at Stanford, a competitive fellowship for medical students conducting community-based research. Since 1999, she has served as a grant reviewer for the American Heart Association Western States Affiliate Behavioral Science, Epidemiology, and Prevention Review Committee.
